I've really gotten more into vector art lately, after finishing up to coloring of my old comic the Demon Chicken (Read at your own responsibility, as it is OLD,….

I've always liked Inkscape and all my previous vector stuff was made with that, but it does lack a certain amount of flexibility when it comes to digital inking and pressure sesitivity. So I turned my eyes on Adobe Illustrator, which I used to create following pieces:

My favourite sci-fi couple, Aeryn Sun and John Crichton from fantastic series Farscape…

Stardust, golden age superhero created by Fletcher Hanks…

And Fantomah, another golden age superhero from the deranged mind of Fletcher Hanks…

I must say I am really digging Illustrator. The brush system is a bit of a pain, as you need to remember to turn it on each time you start a new pic, but after you get used to it, as well as how to adjust the brush line thickness, it's a fantastic tool for digital inking. And the live painting tools make the coloring a breeze. Though I still do a ton of post process stuff in Photoshop.

Thanks a lot for the :+fav:'s I really dig your take on Stardust, ever think about doing a story of him?
Thanks. I actually did redraw a page from one the Hanks's orginal Space Smith stories just for fun, but not quite in that style.

I've actually been wondering of an idea of doing "re-adaptations" from Hank's work, each one drawn by a different artist in different style. Perhaps altering the stories a bit in order to make them more cohesive, or just to leave the actual plot and dialog as they are, but altering the panel structure.

Here's my take on Leopard Woman of Venus, a villanous tribe from that said Space Smith story: [link]
